stress & anxiety therapy for high-achieving men and women in Rochester NY

INDIVIDUAL THERAPY

Ready to sit on a couch (sometimes lay) and process all your fears, emotions, struggles and crappiness?…Okay maybe that sounds too deep. What about gently forming a relationship of trust, openness, genuine conversation, occasional swear words and not-too occasional humor? (While also still doing the first half).

I am genuine in the way I do therapy with my clients, and I also will challenge your ways when they seem to be getting in the way of your work. I often will use my trusty white board to help guide/explain, encourage activities that are not limited to Sandtray work, Internal Family Systems work, and journaling.

I always encourage my clients to purchase a journal for therapy once they start out with me for a few reasons. When your brain is overloaded and emotions come up in the session, it will be hard to remember the homework I give at the end of the session. I will always leave you with something to think about at the end of the session so you are not left hanging until we meet again.

I encourage comfortable clothes, coffee, tea and whatever helps you feel comfortable in a session. This is your space and no judgement here!

Sounds great, but how do I know I am ready for individual therapy?

You may be ready for therapy when you:

  • Are feeling frustrated with yourself and others about how shitty you feel
  • Feel as though you are willing and open to express your feelings- and if not, willing to learn how

  • Knowing that there are deeper roots to some of your behaviors but unsure what they are

  • Ready to explore yourself in a different way & feel open to the challenging of your thoughts and behaviors
